Books that participants will need before class starts: Quackery : A brief history of the worst ways to cure everything (recommended) by Lydia King, MD and Nate Pedersen; available through Amazon

From the earliest recorded times, humans have been sick and injured. The ways that we have treated illness and injury are interesting and, from our present point of view, often quite strange and even funny. In this class we will learn about some of those treatments including quacks and some that may be legitimate remedies.
