Make it to Wear!

Make it to Wear!

Martha O’Kennon, Emerita Professor of Mathematics & Computer Science, Albion College

Mondays, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m. February 3, 10, 17, 24. In person. Class size limited to 16.

I make most of my own garments and have been doing this for years. In this class I’ll guide you through my simple method so you too can enjoy making and wearing something unique! Each participant should bring to class something, or a few things, that fit you already. We are going to be copying these garments to the new fabric you are bringing. I’ll also bring some of my favorites that you might want to copy. I’ll review your pattern choices before we proceed. You’ll need some simple equipment and materials including fabric scissors, pins, and needles and two yards of patterned fabrics—I like two-color cotton prints, but you can also use heavier weight fabric. Here are images of a tunic top and a pair of pants that I made in the way that I’ll show you.
